Let the video actually play for a few seconds, then click the refresh icon. The extension discovers video by watching network requests — before playback starts there is nothing to see. A paused poster image won't trigger it.
If it's still empty, the video may be DRM-protected or delivered in a way the extension can't read (see the next two questions).
YouTube delivers audio and video over a proprietary protocol with per-track signing. Reading it would mean reverse-engineering YouTube, which is outside this tool's scope and against both Chrome Web Store policy and YouTube's Terms of Service. The extension will tell you this up front instead of listing useless fragments.
Those use DRM (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay). The decryption keys live inside the browser's secure module and the extension makes no attempt to extract them. Use the official app's own offline download feature for that content.
No. The download is a normal MP4 that opens by double-clicking. When a site sends audio and video as separate tracks, they're merged for you. Legacy MPEG-TS streams are remuxed to MP4. Streaming-oriented fragmented MP4 — the kind that plays in VLC but makes QuickTime report an unknown error — is rebuilt into a regular MP4.
None of this re-encodes anything, so quality is untouched and it takes a second or two.
Merging should be automatic, so this shouldn't happen. If it does, open the extension's settings (gear icon) and click Copy diagnostics, then email me that text — it shows exactly what was downloaded and how it was assembled.
One case where it's expected: if you picked a specific quality manually and the site had no matching audio track for it.
Most often the stream URL expired (many sites sign them with a short lifetime). Reload the page, play the video again, then retry. If a specific site fails consistently, email me the site and I'll take a look.
No. There is no server on my side. No analytics, no telemetry, no account. Video is fetched from the original site straight to your disk. Details in the privacy policy.
The tool itself just saves media your browser is already receiving. Whether a particular download is permitted depends on the content and the site's terms. Only download what you have the right to keep — your own material, content explicitly cleared for download, or video you're licensed to save. That judgement, and the responsibility, are yours.

这些处理都不重新编码，画质音质无损，只多花一两秒。
合并是自动的，正常情况下不会出现这种事。如果真遇到了，请点开插件设置（齿轮图标）里的 「复制诊断信息」，把那段文字发到下面的邮箱 —— 它会显示到底下载了什么、是怎么合成的。
有一种情况属于正常：你手动指定了某一档清晰度，而网站没有与之配套的音轨。
最常见的原因是视频地址过期了（很多站点给的地址有效期很短）。刷新页面、重新播放视频， 再试一次即可。如果某个网站一直失败，把网址发我邮箱，我看看能不能支持。
不会。我这边根本没有服务器。没有统计、没有遥测、没有账号。视频从原站点直接下载到 你的硬盘。详见隐私政策。
工具本身只是把你的浏览器已经在接收的媒体保存下来。某次下载是否被允许，取决于内容本身和 网站条款。请只下载你有权保存的内容 —— 自己的素材、明确允许下载的公开资源， 或已获授权的视频。这个判断和相应责任都在你自己。
